GAVI recognises its responsibility as a guardian of donor funds and works hard to minimise the possibility of their misuse. The Alliance strives to support recipient countries and partner organisations to reach and maintain a high standard of transparency and accountability.

The purpose of this policy is to set out GAVI’s eligibility criteria which determine the list of countries eligible to apply for GAVI support.

This policy sets out the process and procedures for “graduation”; i.e. the transition from the time a country is no longer eligible to apply for GAVI support to the point that existing GAVI support ends.

The overall objective of the co-financing policy is to put countries on a trajectory towards financial sustainability in order to prepare them for phasing out of GAVI support for new vaccines, recognising that the time frame for attaining financial sustainability will vary across countries.

This pilot mechanism aims to inform GAVI’s funding decisions in a resource constrained environment by enabling the ranking of country proposals recommended by the Independent Review Committee (“IRC”) for New Vaccine Support (“NVS”) and cash-based programmes and also informs the prioritisation of vaccines within GAVI’s portfolio.

This policy sets out GAVI’s policy towards in-kind donations of vaccines, and other health products used in the delivery of vaccines (e.g. injection safety equipment, needles).

The purpose of this policy is to protect the reputation and integrity of GAVI’s decision-making processes, particularly in regard to the allocation and disbursement of resources, by establishing procedures to identify, evaluate and address any real or potential conflicts that may arise from time to time. In addition to Board members, members of the Secretariat and others involved in decision-making processes on behalf of GAVI will be expected to abide by the provisions of this policy.
