  • GAVI pledging conference June 2011

The successful outcome of GAVI's first pledging conference, “Saving children’s lives”, held in London, ensures the Alliance can immunise over a quarter of a billion children in developing countries by 2015. Total commitments amounted to US$ 4.3 billion. Still the fact remains that a child dies every 20 seconds from a vaccine-preventable disease - GAVI's work is far from finished.
