The GAVI Alliance is currently developing its strategy for the period 2016-2020, which will be presented to the GAVI Board for adoption in June 2014. The approach to develop the new strategy is highly inclusive and builds on the input of all Partners and stakeholders in the Alliance.
Welcome to the GAVI Alliance public consultation on the Strategy for the period 2016-2020. This is an open consultation and builds upon consultations of Board members and constituencies conducted to date and on the guidance provided by the Executive Committee in September. Participation is encouraged from all interested individuals and organisations. The consultation period ends on 30 October 2013.
Why does GAVI need a new strategy?
Adopted in 2010, the current GAVI Alliance strategy covers the period 2011-15. In June, GAVI began a process to develop the next strategy, covering the period 2016-20. The aim for this new strategy, as with the previous one, is to design it ambitiously and subsequently work with GAVI partners to raise the necessary resources for implementation.
Of note, this process focuses on GAVI’s mission, strategic goal and operating model but it excludes the question on the list of vaccines that GAVI supports.
How to provide feedback:
All comments must be submitted using the online feedback form:
Comments, suggestions and/or recommendations that are as specific as possible will facilitate the revision process. The survey should not take more than 10 minutes to complete.
What will GAVI do with the comments?
All comments submitted through the online form will be reviewed, compiled and incorporated as appropriate into a paper to be presented to the GAVI Board in November 2013. The opinions expressed and comments will be referred to anonymously.
What was the process to date?
The approach to develop the new strategy is highly inclusive and builds on the input of all Partners and stakeholders in the Alliance. This consultation is part of a number of interviews and consultations with Board members and constituencies, and GAVI stakeholders intending to identify a set of potential strategic shifts for GAVI. The questions posed in this survey build on the input received so far and more specifically on the guidance provided by the GAVI Board Executive Committee in September 2013. Based on consultations of GAVI Board members and constituencies and on the guidance received from the Executive Committee, this public consultation will further inform strategic options to be presented to the Board in November 2014.
