GAVI's innovative approach is guided by internationally agreed standards, principles and goals that aim to harmonise the efforts of donors, developing countries and aid agencies
GAVI supports global health and development initiatives designed to harmonise support for poor countries. Each initiative sets common standards and objectives against which development organisations can design and measure their programmes; they also help to harmonise policies and programmes and increase their accountability.

Andrew Mitchell, former UK Secretary of State for International Development
International agreements like the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and the International Health Partnership, also provide forums for GAVI to share lessons from its own innovative approaches and learn from others' experiences.
